With so much pressure from the media to look a certain way, teens often succumb to the glamorous end result they expect to have after buying a certain product or getting a certain hairstyle. Trying to look our best isn’t a bad thing, but the line must be drawn, and probably one of the most detrimental things you can do is getting a tan.

Apparently Canadian funding cuts aren’t just for the arts anymore. The Conservative party’s federal budget unveiling on April 19th, 2012 announced Canadian youth volunteer program Katimavik would no longer received government funding, ending the program altogether after 35 years.

The concept of Online Education is undeniably attractive.
Schooling from home, in theory, allows for people to complete courses on their own time, from accredited universities, while balancing other obligations that prevent commutes and in-person lectures from being practical. But is it time for Online Education to transcend this niche and become integrated as a vital staple in the paradigm shift that the education system is currently?
What is the first word that comes to mind when I say ‘cheerleading‘? Flips, jumps, girly and the movie, Bring It On come to mind for me. Although all of those are cheerleading-related, cheerleading has grown from much more than just pumping up the crowd at sporting games. Cheerleading has become a sport of its own.
Sports tend to be seasonal. For instance, no one plays baseball in the winter and no one plays ice hockey in the summer. Well maybe I shouldn’t say no one, let’s say very few play sports out of season. However for ultimate frisbee players, the weather does not stop them from playing the game.
